Side Pots in Slice

Slice has the ability to calculate your equity in situations where there are multiple pots involved (e.g. a main pot and 1 or more side pots).  Imagine you are in a hand holding 56 suited [56] and there are two other players involved, a short-stack who is all in that you believe has a range of 99+, AK, AQ and another player who you put on a range of 22+, [JT+],A"J-K" .  The flop has come down with a K, a 5 and a 4 and you want to know your equity in side pot between you and player 3 as well as the main pot for which all three of you are eligible.

Here is how you would set this situation up in Slice;

First enter the board cards and player ranges:

Then click the Side Pots button which will bring up a dialog that looks like this:

We only have one side pot in this situation so select 1 from the Number of sidepots drop down.   In this case only players 1 and 2 are eligible for the side pot, so we'll check the boxes P1 and P2.

Clicking OK will return you to the main window.  If we now click the Calculate button we'll get our equity sim results for both pots:

 So we can see that while we only have about 27% equity in the main pot (Pot 1), we have 47% equity in the side pot (Pot 2) vs player 1.
